What Is a Widget?
Accessing Our Widget
Radio Widget
It is a little application that runs on a weblog (”blog”) or social network page that adds features to those pages that are not normally available. In our case, our widget allows you to let others see what music you have in your collection.
The widget is written in Flex/Flash (a programming environment). It is added to other web sites via an “embed” tag. Some web sites block embed tags, so we cannot guarantee that our widget will always work in any cases.
This is an example of the embed tag for our widget:
<embed type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” src=”http://www.mediamaster. com/player/widget.swf?username=JohnSmith&startpage=albums” width=”230″ height=”374″ id=”mmwidget” name=”mmwidget” bgcolor=”#ffffff” quality=”high”scale=”noscale” swLiveConnect=”true” allowScriptAccess=”always” salign=”LT” align=”middle” />
Don’t worry if you don’t understand what it means. You just have to copy it from our live page into the code of a destination Web page. Some examples of destination sites where our widget is installed are Friendster, MySpace, Zebo as well as any blog. On some of these pages our widget may be “below the fold”, so you should scroll down to see it.
1. Click on the “Options” button:

2. Click on the “Options” drawer’s “Publish” button:

3. In the “Publish” window, select the “Embed Widget” menu item at the top right corner:

4. Click on the “Preview Widget” button. The “Embed Widget” window is opened. (If you find that nothing happens, it might be that you have a pop-up blocker enabled that is preventing the widget from showing.)

5. The box on the foreground is the widget as such (more examples are below). The text box behind it contains the HTML code that must be pasted into the code of a blog or social networking page for the widget to show. The drop-down menu in the middle of the “Publish” window allows you to select the “start page” for the widget. That is, the information that is shown on the widget when visitors to your blog or social network page first see it.
4. Our widget presents several different views allowing a user to navigate through your collection:
a) “Library”: The collection of albums in your library. Click on the “Library” link at the top, and you will see another options.

b) Views for playlists look like the one below:

c) Jump page view:

You don’t need this step to put the widget on a page, but it is a useful reference. If someone views the “Jump page” in your widget, they will be able to click on one of the two boxes above. The top box will bring the person to your page as if they visit it through Community page. The bottom box will bring the user to the MediaMaster sign-up page. Alternatively, they can click in the text boxes below the links and then copy the text for pasting into the browser’s address bar.
It is another kind of MediaMaster widgets. For more information please refer here.
